| Thanks to Eugene Ray Johnson (aka Gene, Short) who mailed me his ROTC video, you can view and/or download that video which KWTV Channel 9 shot of the ROTC program at GHS. There are some members of our class in it, but only some of those who volunteered for it in their senior year. Most of us did not. That's why there are younger boys in the film, but you can get an idea of what it all looked like in about 1961 I'd say. It was after Col. Henry left and Merle Lassiter took over. I pulled some pics from the film which are also below. Someone put music in the sound track, but at the end of it, a Channel 9 reporter interviews Lassiter. Enjoy! danny@ghs1961.org |
